Man, we got Modano back but lost bigtime with Turgeon. :(

Flyers look absolutely STACKED this year. STACKED.

There are a few players I really didn't want to lose. Modano, #1, I was uber pissed yesterday at the news he didn't sign, I am soooo relieved to see he did today.

Turgeon is a BIG loss though. Wonder who we will have in the end of this mess.

GO STARS!

But didn't the Stars buy him out? Which mean they could not have re-signed him to a new contract.

Cheers,
Aquaman

Aquaman, I'm in the dark on this one.

Goalie Equipment will be samller now.

Leg pads will be 11 inches wide instead of 12 as was the case during the
2003-2004 season, and gloves and upper-body pads also will be altered to fit
the league's desire for more goals. Blockers will be one inch shorter.

Cheers,
Aquaman

some of that is unfair to larger goaltenders with larger appendages like Olie the goalie.

If the leage really wanted more goals, all they have to do is enforce that previously mentioned obstruction rules! ...oops, there I go again! ;)

Thanks for the explanation Aquaman!

I can't beleive that the NYI signed Garth Snow, the king of the big equipment, to a 3 year deal......... he is going to suck :p

Bruins signed Alexei Zhamnov for 3 years, not sure for how much.

Not a bad pickup and it would be cool to see him and samsonov on the same line.

Yeah, he was the backup for Modano after Forsberg..

It might actually work better because it would have been tough to lock up Joe and Sammy with Modano coming over.

I don't understand why they didn't keep Nylander...

I think the B's need to pick up a couple of defenseman...preferably solid veterans. They supposedly were interested in Pronger, and Niedermayer, but that didn't work out.

yeah, they were trying to move boynton for pronger, but it didn't work out, which means we are still in a hole defensively.

Oops. :) Yes, I'm not a noob.....

oh, MrCodeDude, The Jets became Phoenix Coyotes. If you look at the list of trades just from today Teppo Numminen, Alexei Zhamnov and Jeremy Roenick were all playing for the Jets in their last season here. :( So, when I remember the Jet's I think of them, Khabibulin, Selanne, Tkachuck, Thomas Steen, Domi,

Sigh.

Going further back, Bob Essensa was the man. :)
