Yikes, I do not like that passing! Looks like the shot stick is mandatory as well? I was never a big fan of it in NHL 09.

The right stick shooting? I love it (once used to it) because you have so much more control with dekeing and such. In NHL 09 you could change it to the old NHL 94 pass-pass-shoot controls, so you might be able to still do that and it's just disabled in the demo.

I might like the new passing if they changed it to be pressure sensitive instead of time sensitive. Right now it's setup to where the longer you hold the triger the harder the shot, but you have triggers with a large range of motion at your disposal. They should have made it so a full trigger press is a fast pass and a short trigger pass is a slow pass, that way at least all of my passes take about the same amount of time.

I liked using the right stick to deke, but I didn't like having to wind up and shoot with it. I'm just not fast enough. I could never get used to it but I suppose I should try harder.

You don't have to make every shot a slap shot. Remember that a wrist shot is still damn fast and will be more accurate than a slapshot for almost every player in the game (I'm not sure how the slapshot/wristshot stats are handled). Just flick the stick up without winding up and it'll still be fast and definitely more accurate. That's how I get all my one time goals.

Just got NHL 11, updated and about to play, anyone else get it?

/See someone's already 37-5-1 on PS3
//Like the fact i can dumb down the controls for now

worth getting if you have 09?
yeah, my brother loved 10 over 09, and hes planning on getting 11

i *Want* 11 and have 10, but i dont realistically get to play enough at this point (school, work, homework) to bother buying it right now. i love 10, may get 11 around or after christmas

Not having played an nhl game since NHL 04 , i really appreciate the fact that you can dumb down the controls(only use 2 buttons)

I picked up NHL 11 this week to replace my NHL 2001 copy on the PS2. The controls are much more complicated, but I'm going to give it my best. The game play and physics are far more realistic as opposed to the 2001 game.

I'm going to get this for either the 360 or PS3 between now and the weekend. Is there a consensus on what everyone plans to get yet? 360 seemed to be the leader when the conversation started but haven't heard much since then.

This is one of the things I am waiting to get confirmed. I have the ability to get either, just don't want to get the one that nobody else has.

I just got it as a present..

I have NHL09, the styles are VERY different so I will need some time to master

Madden has been nothing but mediocre for the past few years. EA knows that FIFA and NHL is where the quality is at. Madden is just a flat out money makes because people feel t he need to buy it every single year, and that makes EA happy.
