I like this game but hate the way the road looks, like something from the commodore 64. Check out this screenshot:

I have an X800XTPE with everything cranked to the Max and the road around the car still looks terrible. Can this be fixed?

If it actually looks THAT bad, something's gotta be messed in the driver settings.

Other than that ... Drive faster? :p

I'm pretty sure you don't have everything maxed. I have a 9700 pro and it looks better for me.

Quiting the game and then restarting should fix it. I had the same thing on my 6800GT when I first ran it. When I restarted, it was fixed.

How are you getting 1600x1280? The highest resolution that I can select is 1024x768, and I have an LCD with a native res of 16x12 and a 6800...

Same here. Ran it for the first time, and it looked like crap. The pixelated roads really detract from the entire game. I just restarted the game, and ta-da, the roads look good again. 6800GT here as well.

My road looks the same for me but not as bad and I have little pixeling in the windows only of the airport in front of you also. I have a eVGA 6800 Limited edition / IE ultra detuned.

Restarted and it fixed it. I did some real extensive testing before posting eh! Now if we could only fix that cheesy dialog.;)

Thanks for the input, now back to the racing!

Your texture filtering was low. The game doesn't update the filtering settings until you restart it.

I have that same problem. How do I make my resolution higher than 1024? I have a BFG 6800OC, 66.93 nvidia drivers, 3200+ , etc... but I can't go above that resolution. What gives?

turn on 1 block of texture filtering or higher, that eliminates the problem. also install the NFSU2 1.1 update.
