Me friend gave me a copy yesterday, boy does it suck, i thought it was suppoesed to be the beat one, wtf, 5 cars and 4 tracks, slow @ss cars, not to say the graphics are hidious and the handling is bad and control is very bade, this game is a pos

Slow paced is the only thing that it *isn't*. The gfx are way above any other similar racer, and playability is an absolute dream using mu MS Sidewinder FFB Wheel.
 
The idea is to go through the Porsche Evolution, and work your way from the original cars to the latest ones.

NFS 5 kicks ass! And i'm running it on a P-200mmx. I'de have to say it's the best nfs to date. The graphics are incredible.

There is a patch to enable all 80 cars and I think 8 tracks. Just run a search for it on your fav search engine.

NFS5 is the BEST NFS game ever and the absolute best driving game for the PC/console IMHO (right next to GT and GT2).

There are over 80 cars, 9 open road courses, and 5 closed circuit tracks. Ohh, and get a faster computer if it's slow. It's well worth it 😉
 
It's the best in the series and just slightly better than 3, to me anyway. To enable most of the cars and all of the tracks just use the trainer. http://www.geocities.com/bladeisme/Trainer.zip (u may have to right click on the link and select "save target as" in ie) Once downloaded just unzip it to the nfs5 directory and then make a shortcut to it on your desktop and play the game by double clicking on it. It's also a no cd patch too. It's great when u want to just race in any of the tracks. And race "moby dick" on the autobahn, it's a rush!!😉

I do agree that the cars seemed real slow at first. You have to drive the 911gt,944 or moby dick to get a better feel for speed. I hated the game at first too because of that lack of speed feel. And the control is just as good as the others to me.

ya..I gotta say, while this was the best of the series, I really wish they would have ditch the evolution mode and gone with a real tournament based system. I swear, am I the onnly one who hated driving those damned boats for the first 1/3 of the game???
 
Just upgrade the cars. The only "boat" I drove was the first car in the game. After that, I just upgraded the suspension to race or sport levels.

It's much more fun if you install the hack that gives you $2 Billion in career mode. 😀

BTW: The hack works with my NFS5 retail CD.
 
NFS5 is EASILY the best driving game ever.

KotchY, you really oughta give it a fair shake... because obviously, you haven't.
 
I thought it was stupid of them to lock out most of the tracks and cars when u first play the game. Makes zero sense to me. Doing that I almost gave up the game as the only available cars weren't fast as I prefer. I couldn't get into that career mode or whatever it's called. Those slow cars drove me bananas. I just like the racing part and picking any car and track I want.

You big baby!! That's the point of the game 😉 You go through evolution mode and win races. You use the money to buy cars and upgrade your existing ones. And you get more tracks as you win on them. Simple as that 😉 If you can't hack it against the computer, you are just SOL and won't have enough money to advance.

You pansies out there that can't win have to resort to using cracks and cheats to get cars and tracks. I on the other hand did it the old fashioned way--winning races and buying cars.

Besides, it only took me a week of casual play to beat evoulution mode.

So with all of the money I have earned in Evolution Mode, I have a whole garage full of cars, old and new.
 
I just beat the NFS evolution. It was great. I downloaded the Trainer2 crack after I beat it. It is for the retail version. It is cool cuz it loads a TON faster since when you replace your Porshe.exe it is a NO CD one 😉

BUT. I wanna get a steering wheel. Is the Logitech set the one to get? It comes with a seering wheel and pedals right? I will probably buy w/in a few weeks. What do you guys think?
 
Ive never played it, and probably never will. The fact that there are only Porsche cars sucks ass. Its not just the fact that I dont like them that much, its just that limiting a game to only one car company is stupid. The last 4 had multiple car companies, why couldn't the 5th?

Thats probably the only reason I didnt rent the game (i rented all the others).

Listen u homo, I get bored racing those wind up cars and all that other boloney. 😀 I just like the racing part and racing the cars I like and the tracks I like and not havong to go through all that boring crap. 😛

Ummm, it's not stupid. Focusing in on one car company makes the game much better. Car models are more realistic and you can be even more detailed with car models and performance. In this case, it's best to have all of your eggs in one basket.

Think about. Instead over having to deal with Ferrari, Lamborghini, Aston Martain, Chevrolet, etc. you just deal with Porsche. You can get all of their engineers and car folk around the table and brainstorm on just their cars. You don't have to worry about having to deal with 10+ car manufacturers.

I hope that the next series deals with Ferrari. Of how I would love to have the F360 Modena 🙂 The one in NFS4 looks like crap

I too have the MS Sidewinder FF wheel. I can highly recommend it.

Since I haven't tried any of the other wheels, I can't say if one is better than the others. The Logitech seems to get better reviews, for what that's worth.

But if you can afford it, definitely get a Force Feedback wheel. It's worth the extra dough.
