NFS Underground is a lame racing game.

Much like the ricer crowd in real life. I guess they molded the game after all the sh!tboxes out there with a fartcan exhaust, a giant bolt on wing and a crappy primer colored body kit.

I was looking at this game earlier today at Costco. Glad I didn't buy it. I picked up Rally Sport Challenge instead for $17.99.

RalliSport Challenge is pretty good. So is TOCA/Pro Race Driver. Rallisport has better AI, Pro Race Driver has better crash damage. They both rock in the graphics dept. I gave up on NFS after PU, after hearing all the negtive news on the latest from the NFS series.

I don't like rice, but I like the game... Yeah, I wish there were domestics, but i'll live 🙂

The game is really fun at first, but severe flaws make the fun factor decrease exponentially with each race.
The lack of any realistic crashing/damage is really annoying... And the AI gets ridiculously hard as time goes on.
If the tuning/upgrading was more like it is in street legal it might have kept my interest... but as soon as you realize the packages only determine what stickers you get, upgrading becomes pointless. Almost all of the body stuff is ugly... but I guess there are plenty of 13-year-olds who are into that kind of thing. I'm about to uninstall this game, as it looks like I've already experienced everything it has to offer.

Thats not necessary. Its still hard, and that doesn't depend on the difficulty of any other game. Do you want a cookie for noting the hardest racing game?

FWIW- Those of you wanting more realism and more meaningful car "tweaks" would probably really like Colin McRae Rally 2.0. Excellent force feedback and changes to the cars that actually do something.

FF: steering reaction is fairly immediate (as opposed to the NFS:HP...which completely sucks) and the "road feel" is excellent. You can even feel little stuff like one of your front wheels getting caught in a rut; you have to give the wheel a bit of a twitch to pull it back out.

Car changes: you can change a ton of stuff prior to each stage (almost too much actually). Ride height, spring rates, fore/aft power balance, braking/steering sensitivity, tires, etc, etc. Setup is actually pretty critical; leave a car set up for gravel on a tarmac stage and you'll lose a lot of time.

Just my 0.02 😉

No, I want a cookie for proving that I am the racing game god.

Bow to me, racing game noobs. Tremble in my mastery of F-Zero GX .

That's it, i'm finished with this POS. Made it to race 70 something, and I can't take it anymore. The AI is WAAAAAAAAAY over handicapped. I'm using an inf. N02 cheat and I still can beat the fvckers. EA, I sh!t on you and I sh!t on this train wreck of a "game".

Go away troll.

well, I finally played NFS underground today. I busted out the MS percision wheel and wow... what a fvcking retarded game. I can't stand the physics and the AI is unrealistic. Unlike other posters, I didn't even bother playing past the 5th race. Since the wheel was already anchored to my desk, I played another couple (losing) rounds of MC2. What a difference! EA got owned.

A few things that I've noted ...

- At least exhaust tips and decals are not listed under "Performance" in the upgrades list
- Fartcan isn't available till later on, and doesn't seem to change the car's sound
- Decals aren't necessary, thank god
- Teh Civic can NevAr l0se, even when drag-racing a trio of Nissan 350Zs
