That's what I ran it with... just with a 2.4 XP. 1280x960 high detail. Of course everything slows to a crawl at the start when everyone's tires starts smoking. :(

I want a real racer back. NFS: PU was the best ever, because the cars felt like real cars. Of course someone smarty pants is going to say "Ever driven a porsche?" well, no I have not. But I do know how cars handle, being that I have owned quite a few of the best handling cars out there. 2002 BMW 3 Series being the best next to my 2005 Infiniti G35 Sedan. NFS: PU was authentic and NFS:HP2 wasn't even close. In fact, my save game file is floating around from NFS:HP2 I beat the game a week after it came out with all golds and unlocked everything and uploaded my "ArchAngel777.sav" file to a netherlands site who put it up on their page. The point? The game was easy! I wan't some real racing action like NFS: PU had, where I actually had to work to improve my times and take corners at the right speed and gear.

There have not been any good racing games since NFS: PU... The Nascar games were ridiculously hard, not to mention boring. I have a hard time believing that the NASCAR simulation was accurate, because I couldn't even keep the car on the track going 120 MPH, much less 180 MPH... I think that game blew it... IMO.

I think it's funny when you guys start up your NFS: PU talk. This is an arcade racer, not a simulation. My point? Quit looking for perfect handling on these cars. Since it is an arcade racer, you're not going to get the control of a real car that you would in the game going 120MPH around a sharp corner.

So is the driving model more like PU, or is it more arcadish?

I can't agree with you more.
NFS:pU <---- A beautiful game.

What? Are you playing this with a keyboard or something?

NFS: PU was pushing closer to the sim side while NFS: HP2 and the rest after it have been leaning more towards extreme arcadish (how else do you explain the stop motion bullsh!t?).

Let's think of it this way:

NFS: HP2/NFS: U ----> NFS: PU ----> GTR
Dirty Dozen ----> Saving Private Ryan ----> Band of Brothers

I understand what you're saying, it just gets old hearing you guys bitch and moan everytime a new NFS game comes out, and then you get all setimental on how it's not NFS: PU. Hell, the game came out 5 years ago. Sounds like it was a fluke on EA's part, I hope that this time next year you same group of car enthusiasts will just stick with your GTR's of the world. Or maybe I've been around too damn long to hear you guys bitch about every single freaking NFS game to come out.

Good news? Looks like PU came out on the Game Boy Advance just last year. Have at it.

I haven't enjoyed a Need for Speed game since the very first one on PS1 way back. I'll try this demo though when I get a new computer.

I am enjoying this game.. just for the arcady parts. The slo-mo thing actually helps this time around, and the cop chases are pretty fun.

 You mean the "motion blur bullsh!t?" I don't think a stop motion racing game would be very fun. (Wallace and Gromit: Hot Pursuit?)

No, I think he's referring to the part when you meet the first cop (I don't remember what mode it was) and it does the cinematic view where your car appears to stop for a few brief moments.

No, its called "Speedbreaker" and when you hit the button it slows the game down (like bullet time)so you can "squeeze through tight spots."

I am digging this game all the way around, I cant wait till its release:thumbsup:

I take it you found the Burnout series annoying as well? I like them for what they are, but like you, when I want to play some straight up sim racing, I skip pretty much any racing game EA has made and reach for Forza. Now if only I wouldn't have broken my XBox soldering a USB port to it, long story...

OMG the online server browser is unbelievably stupid :|

I have spend the last 20 minutes trying to get into a server, only to be told the session is full, even when the browser says it's not

The gameplay seems great, but this is ****** retarded.

Control feels like your driving on ice. Maybe it's just me and takes some getting use to. Using a Wingman cordless.
