I just put together a new system:
MSI 6704 M/B
P4 2.4/533
512M Crucial PC2700
Leadtek G4Ti4600

The problem is that I like to play Need For Speed High Stakes
by Electronic Arts and I can't get the game to recognize the video card.
I looked over at EA and don't see any patches for the game.
Maybe someone here has an idea other than throwing the game away.

Almost forgot, running Win98SE

Windows 98 still works?
I thought that went the way of the dinosaurs.. ;)

I had no problems w/a fresh install of 2000 and a Ti4200 card.
maybe a driver problem?
other games working?

I'm not sure if it's a driver problem or not. I'm running the latest drivers, 4.1.0.9.
I just installed Porsch Unleashed and it seems to play just fine. Which version of
Nvidea's drivers are you running?

I had to use 40.72 driver and the game worked. Other ones game wouldn't start. Would check the resolutions then go back to the desktop.

Well, I installed the 40.7.2 Drivers and NFS High Stakes still wouldn't start
so I installed the 30.8.2 Drivers and now it plays just fine but now the
newer game NFS Hot Pursuit2 gets hitchy when the action gets hot.
I gues there is no great compromise here.
Thanks for the help people, I appreciate it.
