Nforce3 ultra and Dual Core?

Will this chipset (specifically MSI K8N Neo2) support an opteron 165 or any AMD Dual core procs? Has anybody tried to install one in this board? Thanks.

I know Duvie had a 4400+ running on an MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum, so yes, it'll work. Don't know about the Opterons specifically, but I don't see why they'd not work.

NF3 should work with 939 platform.

It generally does, but some old boards may need BIOS updates to even boot.

My K8N Neo 2F worked like a charm -- booted fine, and fully recognized the processor after a BIOS update.

Worked just fine on my old Epox 9NDA3+, overclocked pretty well too.
