Is this what the nForce2 will look like when they integrate the Geforce 3MX core next year?

333mhz fsb
PC2700 memory
dual channel 5.4gb/s bandwith
AGP 8X
ATA-133
USB 2.0

Yup most likely, it just will probably still use the 266fsb. But yeah according to this x-bit labs article, that's what it looks like, but I dunno about USB 2.0 though considering all the battling going on between Firewire and USB 2.0.

Thanks for posting that link Athlon4all, I meant to include that in my original post, but could not find it.

"They are Crush17 and Crush18. According to NVIDIA?s roadmap, their mass production is scheduled for late Q1?02. By the way, the samples of this couple will be available in late Q4?01 - early Q1?02 already."

If Crush 11 and 12 are high-performance and stable Athlon solutions, I might find a home for an nForce2 around late March 2002.

WTF, people! I mean, nForce1 ain't even out yet, and you're already discounting it by looking ahead towards nForce2! Face it, the computer industry gets better and better every 6 months. Before the launch of nForce2, you'll be salivating over nForce3.

"When is the 'first coming'?"

According to the Boss it is soon.

August 21st, 2001
"Contrary to popular belief (read: popular rumors), NVIDIA?s nForce isn?t a mess. NVIDIA has learned a lot in these past few months about the chipset/motherboard markets and their progress has been reflected in the current state of nForce motherboards in Taiwan; they don?t have it perfect yet, but they?re getting there. The performance of the chipset is still under NDA so we unfortunately cannot bring you benchmarks of it in this roundup but we will be able to soon enough."

Here's why. One of the biggest complaints about nForce is the fact that most people want better than GF2 MX right? With Crush 17/18 u get a GF3 MX core which hopefully will perfom up to GF2 Pro ok u see the sense in looking forward to Crush 17/18?

Sorry, I was querying about the prices of Crush 17/18 when they are released. Anyone have any idea?

The reason to look forward to the second coming is the increase in fsb speed.

AMD has been moving too slow with their fsb. They launched the Athlon "classic" with the EV6 bus at 200mhz that was scalable to 400mhz all along. The change from a 100mhz ddr bus to a 133mhz ddr bus was not impressive, but it does produce performance gains. The way to increase the Athlon 4 performance is to increase the bus speed. I just wish they would skip the 333mhz and go straight to the 400mhz bus. The 400mhz bus would use PC3200 memory that is being mass produced right now by Micron for the Xbox (each system ships with 64mb PC3200.) 400mhz ddr memory has also been widely produced for use on the Geforce 2 Pro 64mb cards. AMD could do it, I wish they would. They must be saving that last bump in the fsb for "Barton."

Paople are u forgetting that Intel purchased Alpha! they were the technology behind AMD's 200 and 266 bus. They are going to have to ramp the bus of Barton early 2002 and the hammmer will probaly have a much higher bus. Dont worry AMD knows they need to ramp Bus speed, but it will always be different than Intels.

GF3Mx not really exciting to me because i dont think the performance will be up to the Pro/ GTS in DirectX 7 games and below and that is the main thing i play (counterstrike). My next vid card will be a Radeon 8500/ Kyro 3 or an Nvidia offering which every has the best price/perf on the high end which IMO will be Kyro 3 (im hoping).
