nforce2 or springdale/canterwood?

The reason I don't think it's a fair comparision is because it is just as likely a person can overclock their 2.4c to 3.3gig as it is to overclock a 1700+ to 2.2gig.

So you are comparing the maximum performance possible with the AMD with the minimum performance possible with the 2.4c. I think it's more fair to compare max performance with max performance, or minimum with minimum.

As Evan said the AMD chip doesn't need the advantage of an unfair comparison to justify it's incredible value.

i completely agree that the 2.4C can overclock to the point where it wastes the 1700+ but my comparison was only to show that the 1700+ is running with a $265 2.8C chip, that was the only point i was trying to make, not to say that the 1700+ can beat up on an OCed "C" chip, cuz it obviously cant
