I just purchased a Leadtek K7NCR18D-PRO for a new computer I'm building for myself. I have a local network with 4 computers and a DSL router for the internet. After loading this computer up with WinXP Pro, I hooked it in my hub to get online using the onboard nVidia LAN to update Windows, drivers and so forth. I build about 5 computers a month and this is all I ever do, hook it in the hub, click IE and I'm online. This one wasn't going online. It also would not see the other computers even though it was in the same workgroup. I left all network settings at default by Windows, so everything is set on auto, like the other computers on network. I uninstalled, reinstalled, disabled in BIOS, reenabled from BIOS and updated BIOS. After working on it for a couple of hours, I told it to update driver, used original driver from CD and for what ever reason, it started working. I updated Windows, drivers & transfered files with other computers on network. It worked for 2 days. Once the computer was fairly loaded with the software I wanted, I moved it to the spot of my old computer. Once everything was hooked up, I turned it on and the network problems started again. It will not get online or connect to the other computers on the network. I tried updating driver like the first time, but it would not work now. I downloaded latest driver from nVidia but still doesn't work. If I run IPCONFIG, it the ip numbers all look good. It will ping the other computers, but most of the time it will have 25-75% packet loss. It may ping internet locations (Yahoo) once but the next time it won't. If I open IE, it will start connecting to Yahoo!, but it is dog slow.
Has anyone else had trouble with their nForce2 onboard LAN? I don't think it is defective, I think it is having a software issue with WinXP. I'm hoping not to have to load WinXP again. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
