Nforce2 audio problems in Windows Server 2003

I have a Shuttle MN31N motherboard and I'm using Windows Server 2003. I've tried installing the latest Nforce drivers from Nvidia as well as the drivers that came with the motherboard. I have no audio and when I open the audio control panel, I get error messages that don't really tell me much. Such as:

"Failed to open the mixer"

Then the control panel opens. If I try to test the audio, it tells me that the application has terminated unexpectedly.

Anyone get Nforce audio to work in Server 2003 or have a suggestion??

Well man i think your stuck because as far as i know Nvidia hasn't released a driver for Server 2003. Try google searching it and see if there are any beta or 3rd party ones out there. If not nothin much you can do?

Really, if you're using Server 2003 for home use, and not for what it's intended for, then you're going to run into problems like this. Just use XP like the rest of us 😉

Especially since there is no certified drivers for it. XP is plenty fast, efficient and stable. If you have to use 2003 for some reason tho try a google surch for some 3rd party drivers.
Good Luck,

I'm using 2003 because I'm taking a college course where we are using 2003 to do network administration. The computer at school that I was able to install 2003 on is a Pentium II 266 with 128mb RAM. I'd rather use my computer at home when I can.

Lol, youre kidding right a pentium II with 128MB of RAM running server 2003. Yikes sounds like the college needs updating cause thats insane. Looks like youre out of luck unless you can find some beta drivers or find another cheapo soundcard. Soundblaster Live 5.1 is only like $30. So if you absolutely need it then i believe creative has 2003 drivers.
Good Luck
