Does anyone have updated information on the licensing talks between Intel and nVidia?

I would prefer to have a Nehalem + nVidia SLI system running before Christmas season, but I am afraid that isn't going to happen, so I might be forced to embrace ATI Crossfire which at least should work on Intel's X58.

It is really annoying to choose sides.
 
more reason to invest in 4870s now! or if ur a hardcore gamer 4870X2. i dont know how long NV can keep denying intel SLI on their chipsets. Nehalem is just too good for AMD. if u wanna plan for the future X58+nehalem+4870X2. that should last u a while
 
Yeah, it looks like 280 GTX is going to get a spanking from the 4870 X2, and the 4870 X2 is coming in August.
Then of couse nVidia could release a 290 GTX or 280 GTX+.
I wonder what would happen if nVidia also uses GDDR5 memory ?
Although that would probably drive MSRPs through the roof.

Intel sets Nehalem release date to be Q4 2008, does anyone have a more exact timeline?
If the Nehalem and X58 could both be released by September, that would be great.
Otherwise, I'll just have to wait till Christmas.

ES units are floating about to the various partners, as we speak... this would put the High End CPU's out in the October/November time frame.

There is nothing pushing Intel to Release but the Project Management would receive direct Pressure from Paul Otellini. Intel has been able to pull off some extremely intensive Product Launches with not even as much of a Hiccup.

As far as NV Adopting GDDR5 Memory... there are Three Manufacturers that are Currently Sampling, and I don't believe that it would impact costs as much as it would Profits.

Grand Nagus Huang, and his Green Gang are under heavy pressure from all parts of the Galaxy.

This is evidenced in their 30%+ hit in Stock Value, A newly competitive ATI, and Intel Locking them out, and ES Samples of "Larabee" that are supposed to be Sampling within the end of this year.
