nForce vs ATI IGP

Hey all. I've been doing a little research into new chipsets that support Socket A and 266 FSB. While integrated graphics isn't something I normally go for, I can see a few applications where it would be useful. My sister is a casual gamer, and I know she wouldn't mind having to put up with 20-30 fps in Wolfenstein. Beats the i815 she's got now.

Anyway, I just had a quick question regarding the video on these chipsets. In the nForce Preview article, it says the nForce would feature a 2nd generation T&L engine. Since that article, I haven't seen any more mention of that. I was wondering if that held true.... Do the current 420/620 chipsets actually sport T&L? And are we talking hardware T&L?

I also noticed in the preview of ATI's forthcoming line of chipsets, that ATI's next attempt would have a Radeon VE core, meaning an absence of T&L. Isn't that what contributed so much to the Kyro II's bad performance?

Thanks in advance for reading, and any help is appreciated.
