nForce users with audio weirdness?

I noticed when one sound stream replaces another (ie, I load a new MP3 replacing playing one in Winamp) that instead of cutting the sound right away, it 'fades' for a second before going to the next one. Is this me?
 
If it's only Winamp doing this, then check and make sure which output plugin you're using. I believe the DirectSound output has songs crossfade by default.
 
it was the crossfading plugin---that's what i get for loading up new mobo, and then not noticing i had loaded up a newer version of winamp at the same time 🙂 damn kwinky dink
