Hey everyone. I've posted a few times in other threads about this item, but I figured I'd start a new thread. What's up with this mysterious TV-Out AGP dummy card for the MSI Nforce MB? I've heard early reviewers got their hands on it, but most of the sites mention it as optional. Nobody seems to sell it though. Do anyone know more details about this elusive card, or better yet, where I can get my hands on it?

Help would be greatly appreciated as it is the only thing holding back the construction of my new divx/game box with a new Nforce board.

Once I saw that VGI Computers were selling these cards in Europe, I contacted some retailers here in the U.S. and just received a response from one of them. Here goes:

"Well, I just got off the phone with the sales department at MSI. They are telling me that they will not sell us the daughter card. They say it is not available in the US but it is in other countries. The problem if you buy one from Europe is it probably is built for the PAL standard and not NTSC. They absolutely won't let us purchase any here. I told them that it states that it is an option on their website. They explained that they must put all options on there because of OEM customers. We would have to order a large quantity in order for them to create this for us (>1000 units).
I guess my suggestion would be that if you really like the board, you can get TV out cards very inexpensive now. They run for around $50 I believe. I know this costs more than a daughter card from them but I don't see any way to get one.
Sorry we were not able to help you on this."

This is possibly one of the worst excuses for a company supporting it's customer base as I have ever heard. Not only will I not buy from these jerks, I wasted several hundred dollars buying a digital sound system in anticipation of using this system to play my DVD's on my television. I know I can just buy another video card with TV out and install it, that is not the point. They offered it as an option on their web site advertised it everywhere and now screwed us (again, I might add). What gives with these jerk-offs? Do they simple feel they are so powerful in the motherboard business that they can treat us like s*** and we will continue coming back for more?
Well, at least I could vent some here. Man, I'm so pissed off I could scream.

Well, I got this from a guy named qwerty over at MSI's forums. What a mess that place is. What a shame that MSI has dropped the ball so badly with such a nice product. This whole missing CNR Digital audio card that SOME people got and this missing TV-Out card is just silly.

I too was upset when i rushed and bought it got home and discovered no Tv-out card. Then later on seeing stores selling msi boards with a cnr card that i and several others didn't get. Board has been very stable but get low scores in 3dmark 2001. Now considering buying a geforce card on its own but will do that once i notice games going slow so far everything is running fine. Bought a $700cdn denon amp connected the spdif out from nforce. So far the sounds amazing i still have to buy the rest of the speakers for 5.1 sound but i am impressed. Its sad Msi is ignoring all the emails its getting from nforce customers and keeping everyone in the dark about the tv out/cnr card. Hopefully everything will get resolved eventually
