Somehow I am more concern about the the "southbridge" where HD data to CPU.
Anyway...what are the differences between those "Media and Communications Processor"?

for example...

Soltek 75FRN, Chaintech 7NJL1 has .........................................................MCP
MSI K7N2 series (excluding -G) has...........................................................MCP2
Asus A7N8X, Leadtek K7NCR18D, Chaintech 7NJS, FIC AU11 has.............MCP-T
Abit NF7S, MSI K7N2G has ........................................................................MCP2-T

I've never heard of the MCP2 or MCP2-T. The features on the MCP-T that are missing on the MCP are an integrated APU, 6-channel sound, Dolby Digital AC-3 Encoder, IEEE-1394a (Firewire) support, and an additional 3Com MAC integrated on the SB. Peace.

huh? Not all MCP-T has 3Com MAC integrated nor Firewire, I think? Asus A7N8X Deluxe vs Leadtek K7NCR18D-PRO ?
Also...Nvidia.com has list of MCP2 and MCP2-T mobo listed here.

Also I was at my local PC store and found same model Asus mobo equip w/ MCP and other one has MCP2...so I am confused.

I have an Asus A7N8X Deluxe with the MCP-T and I have firewire and the 3Com MAC. The A7N8X N/D uses the MCP southbridge. Some manufacturers excercised the option to not implement every feature available so they could keep cost down. Also, there are only two versions of the nForce2 southbridge, the MCP and MCP-T. However, there may be newer revisions of the same chipset, which is what you are seeing. The new revisions would have the same features as the old. Peace.
