Yes, the mobile Bartons are unlocked, but watch out, because they only work on certain motherboards, I've heard. They do work on an NF7-S, I know that. Anyone have a link to the page that lists the motherboards that will work with a mobile Barton? I was thinking about getting one, but I have no idea if it will work with my 8RDA3+.

What the difference between normal AXP and Mobile XP? Is the mobile faster or what?

should be hardly any difference at all (besides power now! and a lower voltage)
i don't see why the chip wouldn't work in any board that a desktop XP would work in
maybe some motherboards won't support the power now! stuff or might display the cpu name wrong, but ohh well

they might oc a tad bit better, but it's hard to say, unless you try

1.9v and 1.8v is a lot on a .13u chip

What would be a general safe voltage for these puppies then?

Id never consider breaking 1.75V stable on my little 1700+ T'Bred B. Not prime stable at its speed but it has NEVER crashed on me while playing games or doing anything I need to do.... so Im not too bothered

If you consider the regular voltage on Bartons which I believe is 1.6 to 1.65v, 1.7 to 1.75v is not to much of a risk.

I for one would not be willing to deal with noise of the much needed sufficient cooling when overvolting, I think computers are loud enough already.

I'll be picking up a Mobile 2600+ barton, which has a default clock of 2.13ghz at 1.45v!!

I'm currently using my Mobile XP 2500+ on a Biostar M7NCG 400 mobo. Works great. I'm currently OC'd to 2ghz (166fsb * 12 @ 1.55v), but will go higher when I get my new ram and better heatsink.

Noise really isn't a concern with the Vantec AeroFLow.... Good Cooling, very quiet and quite effective...

1.8 V might be worth it for 2.6ghz...
