I've been reading many articles about the upcoming NForce motherboard, but I don't seem to recall anyone mentioning what would happen(performance wise) if you override the GeForce2 MX. I was kinda upset when I heard that the NForce would have a GeForce2 MX, but I did read that you could override it. Since the NForce is using integrated sound and graphics, do you think their would be a performance drop by overriding the GeForce2 MX? Also, I just splurged and bought the Klipsch 5.1 speakers, do you think they would work well in an NForce system? I know these questions may be tough, maybe impossible to answer until the NForce actually comes out in the consumer market, but I just wanted to go out on a limb and see if anyone here may be able to answer my questions.

Actually, when they tested the reference board (A while back mind you), they actually found their scored went up pretty nice when overriding the integrated video. This happens because your graphics card is vying for your memory onboard, and it doesn't recieve anything special (Easiest way to put it) before all the other controllers do. They even saw their hd performance increase 5% (Must wonder how everything else jumped up in performance as well). Scourge Extremetech...it's on there somewhere

true... but i also read that since the gf2mx core is integrated it can acheive agp 6x level performace due to the internal handling of memory textures, you are still limited by the fill rate of the gf2mx core tho so gf 3 @ agp 4x = still best : )

I am still saving up for my Klipsch 5.1, the quality that it should produce will truly be breathtaking...

I currently watch my DVDs in the family room, however if the Klipsch prove to be as good as the name that preceeds it, then I will definitely be even more of a recluse in my room ;)
