yes on pci_e and SLI (if you get the SLI verson of the chipset) and i dont really know about dual channes good question.

.....there's really no other nForce4 than the one for AMD. (the one supposedly comming for Intel will be named nForce5, if the rumors hold true)
A64 socket 754 runs single channel (actually 64-bit memory controller), A64 socket 939 and 940 runs dual channel (128-bit). The chipset doesn't affect this since the memory controller is on-die on A64.
nForce4 is nVidias PCIe chipset for A64, and SLI is a opportunity for running two videocards together increasing speed.

Not saying your wrong or anything, as I haven't even heard that yet. But man I can't believe AMD would like that very much. That would automatically, in the eyes of the stupid consumer, make the Intel version better thenthe AMD version, just because ist a bigger number.

Sounds like a reasonable request, so other members reply to try and help.
Consensus... The lower latency isn't worth the extra cost in your situation.
