Nforce Firewall

I've got a nforce 4 motherboard on order but I remember reading that the hardware firewall was buggy before. Is it running any better with current drivers?

If you are doing a completely fresh install of Windows XP (which I assume you are), then feel free to give it a whirl. However, you will have to accept the fact that as soon as you attempt to upgrade the nforce drivers, NAM (the Nvidia firewall) will start causing BSOD's, and you will have to get rid of the firewall until you do a complete reinstall again.

Also I believe Nvidia has acknowledged a bug in FTP transfers in the latest (Oct 05) version, which silently corrupts files. I think a German magazine discovered it first (c't?).

I found NAM worked on a clean install of xp for my dfi ultra-d board 2 out 3 times. Now i do not really bother with it. It really was not that useful to me since i have the firewall turned on at my routher.

I also did not like the interface.

Mine worked fine until I updated the Nforce drivers. Then it kept bluescreening until I uninstalled the network driver, then reinstalled it without NAM.

This is weird, I have the ASUS A8N-SLI deluxe for almost a year now. I finally bought a wired/wireless router and now my nvtsp.sys crashes. I am thinking of trying newer versions of the nvidia drivers but in the past i always got corrupt downloads after updating my mobo drivers.
