I am running a ASUS K7N266-E with a 1G duron, 256MB genric Ram. Yes I know that I am losing a bit of performance by not using both channels. It was an easy build, not a single PCI card in the system, so the 3 slots in the ABIT board is not a big limiting factor. The sound is execellent, though you have to have a DD5.1 source to get DD5.1 sound out. The onboard video is adequite form casual gamming and the system runs like a clock.

I would say get the one that fits your pocket book.

I have put 2 MSI K7N420 Pros together and not had one problem. I used windows XP on both of them.

Newegg.com is a really go site/store. They have good prices, low shipping, ship fast and very good service. I have bought lots of things from them.

If you have overclocking in mind, A7N266-E, but as long as you're not going to be overclocking, then I'd give the nod to K7N420 pro cause it's cheaper, and its just as stable as A7N266-E, just doesn't overclock as well. Good luck!!!
