My brothers old 939 rig just died, and he wants to get a intel quad.
I've used nforce boards in the past, but it's been a while. Right now I prefer intel chip sets, but he will be reusing a 9600gt and wants the option of running 2 in sli...he's also on a budget.
He's planning on reusing the following components: 2 WD Raptor 150's, ide dvd burner, 600watt Seasonic psu, his copy of Vista 64bit, and like I mentioned before a 9600gt.
What he'll be purchasing: 2x2gb kit of ddr2(possibly 1066), mobo, and cpu.
My question is, does anyone here have personal experience with this chipset? How well do they overclock? I've seen some complaints about these boards not being stable with 2x2gb memory. Also I'm not sure which quad he's going to get.
Any advice or board recommendations is appreciated, thanks.
