why can't amd make a dual channel memory controller on the socket 754 chips as well?

Because s754 A64s only have one working memory controller... it doesn't have anything to do with the chipset.

socket 754 nforce4 boards will have a single channel, socket 939 nforce4 boards will have dual channel. 939 dual core chips will have dual channel also but each core only gets to use one channel(like two socket 754 chips spilced together). what im saving my pennys for is dual cpu dual core nforce4 plus sli... after that im never buying another computer for years.

Then why is it that some A64 S754 motherboards do support dual-channel?
