nforce 4 thats gonna be available next week is it stepping 3 or still the broken 1/2

I think the whole inquirer story is bull crap. They've totally made stuff up on multiple occasions, just to get web traffic. Not a single motherboard has expressed problems regarding HTT speed, and all the ones shown so far list a 1GHz HTT link, so I imagine that every single mobo maker didn't just decide to lie about it. Either revision A1 and A2 were months ago, and they stumbled across the old article recently, or it's all made up. Either way, kudos to the inquirer for spreading FUD without any explanation for from where or when the document came, or whether it would affect anything. Thanks a lot, great journalism. As for these MSI boards, I'd better be able to get the Neo4 Platinum in the next week or so, or I'm gonna lose it!
 
i kinda hope it doesnt get available faster than the asus. i really hate msi but if its the first out ill have to buy it anyway. any other brand id prefer to msi. i hate the name i hate the red pcb i hate everything about them xept the nf4 itself 🙁
 
You know after reading 2 weeks ago in Inquirer that no Athlon64 CPU is available
in Israel (which by the way was quoted by few other sites), i lost any faith in everything
they post. They simply dont bother to verify anything. Wouldnt surprise me if they
start telling stories about flying saucers.
 
I'm also kinda disinclined to believe The Inquirer now...months of "OMFG WE KNOW SOUNDSTORM WILL BE IN NFORCE4" articles when other sources didn't have the same story at all, and then it turning out to be false, haven't exactly inspired confidence in their truthfulness...
 
Don't you think that Nvidia or some of the major motherboard makers would have said something about this by now to clear up the confusion, I certainly would have if it was my product that was getting slated just a thought.
 
well i dont know i just assume when a journalist writes something like short news and not a long article reflecting his own opinion its a fact and not something he just made up. if that story is untrue im definitely not gonna read that site anymore. that would upset me a lot.

Anyways, I do think that one of the like 20 mobo makers developing nforce4 boards would have said something by now if it were a problem. After all, the official specs for the nforce3 150 said it could only run at 600MHz, and that 800MHz support would happen with the 250. If there were a problem, nVidia would have just done the same thing, but since they list 1GHz as the official speed, I am disinclined to think they are just lying about it. My best guess is that theinquirer ran across a document from like April, mentioning problems that were fixed months ago, and rather than actually checking the validity of the document, they would go out and spread as much FUD as possible. I emailed the author and asked him to show the document, but he refused. I bet the document is pretty clearly either fake or old, and he knows it.
 
The Inquirer is not lying; the A02 revision is going to be used in socket 754 boards, A03 in socket 939.

So the A02 "was designed" for 800MHz HT. 😀
 
yyyyyyyesssssss, the inquiror did big mistake!!! ao2 is for socket for 754 socket ... and a03 for 939!!! thanks to you, ChineseDemocracyGNR 🙂
