nforce 4 - First Generation Reliability??

I am very interested in buying an nforce 4 ultra. I do not require the SLI capability, but wish for PCIe, SATAII, and ncq. While I want these features, I do not know if I can trust the first generation nforce 4 boards. Does anyone have any experience with products that are bleeding edge new releases? Will it be more trouble than it is worth? I need to know if I should hold myself off, or just forget the 3 extra features I want and get an nforce 3 ultra.

I'm usually pretty sketchy about buying new technology but the fact that NF4 is so similar to NF3 made me go for it this time... Seriously, how much could they mess up with so little changes? I don't expect any mistakes from the major manufacturers.

It's possible the boards will have a few glitches that will be fixed with new BIOS revisions - but I doubt there's anything seriously wrong with these motherboards.

i agree w/chinese. Review i've seen either had no problems, or had some problems that were all fixed with the bios version 1.02, which is available for download on their website right now. Also, phattyb has a point, it IS basically a revamped NF3, so it carries the stability of the NF3 250GB and ultra, more than likely. Anyways, i'll let you know for sure when my board arrives within the next few days.

Thanks everyone for your input. I'm now set on an NF4, I'm just gonna try and hold out a bit longer for more mafucturer's to release their version.

I think the stability of NF4 should be above average, just like how the NF2 was solid pretty much out of the gate. Second gen motherboards from Nvidia rule 🙂 .
