nForce 3 board, issue with ram config

I was checking over someone else's computer that has been experiencing frequent application lockups & reboots. Put memtest86+ in and the ram was reading at 174MHz. Weird. Anyways, I look inside the machine, there's 2x512meg Corsair VS ddr400 & 1x512meg Mushkin ddr400.

So I take the Mushkin stick out, and now memtest86+ displays 200MHz like I want to see (along with some different timing numbers). Only time will tell if the system runs stable from here on out.

So does the nForce3 250 chipset have any issues running 3 mem sticks? All 3 sticks are double sided.

Yes it does when you are running three module that are double sided. It is a limitation of the chipset. best combination for that chipset is 3 single sided modules.
