Someone explain to me the rule regarding QB play time/restriction/substitution. I always thought I knew all that there was to know about the game, but now I'm embarrassed to say that I'm not clear on this rule. The 3rd QB can't play unless the first 2 are unable to play/have no further play, but is there more to it than that?
 
Lol @ Michael Vick attempting to pass. So . . . THIS is what a guy who wasn't accurate to begin with looks like after a year or so in prison.

So you have the 1st and 2nd string QBs, and an emergency QB (who doesn't take up one of the 45 roster game day spots).

If you put the emergency QB in, the 1st/2nd QBs can't play again until the 4th quarter..

42.4 QB rating this season. In 2005, Orton had a 59.7 (lowest in NFL that season for QBs with 200+ attempts) rating for the season to put that in perspective.

As a Raiders fan I'm glad to see that Derek Anderson had a much much worse day..2/17 for 23 yards and an INT.

Alright, that's how I understood it. For some reason one of the commentators I was listening to confused me.
