I'm still trying to figure out why Jacksonville, Florida has a football team, but Los Angeles doesn't and neither does Salt Lake City.

Jacksonville is a larger city than SLC and at least on the surface, was supposed to be a football town in a football state. But as we see, population base isn't necessarily an indicator as their fans don't really support the team whereas you have a small market team in Green Bay where support is rabid. I really think the NFL could succeed in just about any city to be honest -- it is that popular, so I have no clue what Jacksonville's problem is. I mean come on, with the exception of 2 or 3 seasons, the Colts were awful until Manning got here and Indy supported them.

Which brings me to LA. LA's issue, at least from the perspective of us looking on from the outside, is twofold. The lack of a new stadium is really hurting them. The other issue is that fan support seems to be absent. Now, in a city as large as LA, I doubt you'd have trouble filling an 80,000 seat stadium every week, but there just doesn't seem to be enough interest to make a concerted effort to get a team.

Honestly, I do expect that LA will get a team and I would guess it would be the Jaguars. Of all the teams in the league, they seem to be on the shakiest ground (by far). The other team that we might see move is Buffalo, but I don't think it will really happen and if it does, they'll move across the lake to Toronto. All the other teams seem pretty solid in their current locations.

Other cities that would probably successfully host an NFL franchise include San Antonio, Columbus, and possibly a town like Honolulu, though I think that is extremely unlikely.

I see this is a likely scenrio if the Bills were ever to pack up their tents. The NFL wants sooooo bad to get into different countries (money to be made!!!!). I do so a large (unsucessful) uprising if the rumor still starts swirling about the Bills leaving Buffalo...especially if its across the border to Toronto. There will be riots in Buffalo.

LA doesn't deserve another NFL team because they didn't support the two that they did have. LA is one of those cities where the population is so diverse that I doubt they'd garner enough support due to other allegiances in the league, they won't want tax hikes, etc. LA is a terrible sports town, but meh that's my opinion.

They had a chance with TWO teams, and they ran them both off. They shouldn't be allowed to have another. Period.

Texas just doesn't need another football team. SLC would allow all of the those people in the mountain west to have a team.

From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NFL

Look at that. Texas doesn't need another, Florida doesn't need the Jags, I'm somewhat skeptical that Oakland needs a team, but whatever. There's a huge hole near Salt Lake City that would draw support from several states. I don't know if Hawaii or Alaska could support teams, though a nice outdoor game in January in Fairbanks against the Dolphins might be interesting. :p

Just what Ohio needs... another shitty football team :D

Might as well move Buffalo there too so they can form their own division. The Shitty Ohio Division.
