nfl is seriously boring
the only thing it has going for it is a bit of stability (can watch your favorite player for many years potentially, instead of just 3 or 4)
but yeah, boring

I refuse to watch college football until those asshats use a playoff system.

I watch once in a while.

Tebow deserved the Heisman over the Oklahoma QB though.

They've got a hard on against Tebow for some reason.

Doesn't matter hopefully Tebow does well at the NFL level.

clearly they hate tebow, i mean they only have the Heisman to him last year and all.

Thanks I thought he got passed over last year.

NFL because College football is a popularity contest (even after they created the BCS). Until there is a playoff that can include all teams with 1 loss or less then there really isn't a point to watching it. At least in the NFL if you aren't the world champion then you at least lost one game. In College football you could beat every team you got the chance to play and still be ranked outside the top 5.

NFL never has huge upsets because no team will ever be a 30+ point underdog.
this is called parity, and it makes most all of the games interesting because anyone can win

I guess you didn't know last season there was this team called the Patriots who went undefeated up until the NFL championship Superbowl (never been done before in the current format) and lost to a wild card team.

No rushing fields and goalposts coming down.
this is because NFL teams/fans know what it is like to win

Just a different mentality and type of fan.
different doesn't mean better

Every game just means so much more in college.
except in December and in the playoffs and championships

The nfl is predictable
This is why all the "expert" analysts barely breach .500 when predicting games vs. ~.750 of picking college...

and noone really has much invested in it emotionally.
why would anyone be more emotionally invested in college over pro?

NFL games don't have trophies
uh, the Lombardi? The only trophy that actually matters and one of the greatest in all of sports...

(real) rivalries
college might have the spirit due to deep seeded history, however when its on the field in the NFL you can have players that have played against each other more than a dozen times rather than a relatively insignificant 3 or 4 times...

I'm willing to bet NFL history predates your life, do you really need anything more that you ultimately don't really care about?

puhlease

bowl games
Superbowl much? Compensation Mediocrity Toilet Bowls FTL.

except there was nothing exceptional to it for a non biased viewer, no amazing comeback, no heart pounding defensive stands, no truly dramatic lead changes...

if anything that was a solid game typical of NFL standards at best, the Steelers' past two games against the Cowboys and Ravens were far more dramatic and entertaining than that relative bore fest

College is great, but I give the NFL the nod over college football.

The NBA is owned by College basketball though, it only exists to keep the college game going.

No one watches baseball anymore.

This. The top college teams are essentially professional anyway, with "student-athletes" who barely attend classes and barely graduate with a degree. If I'm going to watch pro athletes, I'm going to watch the NFL, not the fake "amateurs" of college football.

The poll really needs an option for someone like me who enjoys both equally.

Why do so many people (e.g. quoted above) think that their experience is the final word? So, you're bored when you watch football and all college sports. Different strokes for different folks.

Collge FB has too many mismatches where one of the teams on the field has no business being on the same field as the other. Too many games where the outcome is already known before the game even takes place (with the exception of the rare upset). I like both collge and pro, but given the choice between a great college game and a great pro game, I'll take the great college game any time.
Right.

Now, every body ask yourself honestly (and answer here):

If you had a choice between seeing only one of the following two games, which would you see:

Florida vs. Oklahoma in the BCS championship game

This coming Superbowl

I'll start. I always watch the Superbowl. Last year's was fantastic, absolutely great. But most are all but a borefest. 3/4 of the Superbowls I've seen are boring and barely competitive. FL vs. OK will be exciting, I can almost guarantee it.

No, the bold makes me noticed. Correct, we don't know who will be in the Superbowl this year, but chances are it won't be as exciting as the BCS championship game, not even close.

I like NFL better. The level of play is just such a HUGE notch above college.

I like them both but if I had to pick I'll take NFL over college.

OK, nothing wishy washy about that...
But I'll be honest. I'll watch both but I won't expect the SB to be exciting. In fact I'll be surprised if it is. I much more anticipate the BCS CG. We should come back to this thread and compare the ratings. The SB is much more of a tradition, so it will get very good ratings regardless, but I think this years BCS CG will have significantly higher than usual ratings.
