NFL: Giants vs Steelers

I've been into the Eli hype since the start of the season. I'm glad he's showing his true potential. However, this makes me think how the Steelers will hold up in the playoffs going up back against Philly as well as NE. I hope they can hold their ground like they once did.

This was a pretty good game.

Eli is good but he will never be as good as Peyton.

I'd hate to jump on the Roethlisberger bandwagon but he seems like a great player to come, even though he's inherited the reigns of an already dominant team.

On that note, I can't wait to see my favorite quarterback of the trio; Philip Rivers. I don't think I'll be seeing him anytime soon though because of the recent resurgence of Drew Brees. Oh man.

Roethlisberger was 2nd best QB in the league in the 4th quarter going into the game, and 2nd best in the AFC on third down attempts. He showed it again today. Not to forget that this was one of his most productive days breaking 300 yards passing and not seeming phazed by some of his mistakes such as his interceptions or near picks.

Props to the Giants for not giving up and making it a good game. Their special teams work on kick returns was phenominal, its honostly what kept them in the game but the Steelers actually got back to their ways of ball control holding the ball on offense a good 10 minutes longer than the Giants, a lot of that has to do with Bettis starting and Ben and the recievers making big plays as well as converting on 3rd downs when they needed to.

And speaking of Brees, I don't think "resurgence" is the correct word, has he ever done anywhere near this good before this year? 😉

In college 😛

It's going to be interesting to see how far the Steelers get in the playoffs. 🙂

Too bad the best game will be the AFC championship, not the Super Bowl. I hope the Iggles can put up a show in the big game.

The AFC playoffs are going to be great, Colts or Bolts could make a serious run.

The NFC playoffs are set up perfect for major upsets, but if Mcnabb or "The Vick" can't make it to the big show, the superbowl will be a AFC crapshoot.

Did it ever occur to you that if a team can upset the Eagles (this includes the Flacons, they aren't off the hook for their KC and Tampa games), they have a legit shot at the big one? Heck, the Panthers did it last year, they forced the Patriots to win on a last second field goal...the game could have gone either way and it was rare to find many who thought the Panthers could do it...

Chargers are idiots for giving up on Brees after just one season. If Giants or Ravens followed the same logic they should've benched Manning/Boller and deemd them busts. They still very well might be, but you can't expect a rookie QB to dominate first year. Even Roethlisburger isn't that impressive statistics wise his first year.

This was my first NFL game I ever attended, DAMN what a shootout. Too bad Barber couldn't produce much after the first half. And agreed, the kick returns were great... Ponder right? I just wish the defense didn't give up such big passes.

But damn... what a great first game to attend. Kind of weird though, half the stadium was filled with Steelers fans. I thought I was back in Pittsburgh again... *shudder*.

Though my Giants lost, it kind of gave me a glimmer of hope as to what they 'can' do. I wonder how much different the game would be if Burress, Staley, and Strahan were healthy.

I wish Giants rookie safety Gibril Wilson was playing too. That guy is something special.

Is that Miss Cleo over there? I can't see real good. Is that her? I swear it's her!

Seriously, stfu. You have NO idea what he's going to be like. Peyton will go down as one of the best QBs ever, so I don't think you're going too much out on a limb to say that, but again, you have no idea. He's just now starting. Don't forget, Peyton didn't have the best numbers in his first few starts either, and he wasn't facing the caliber of defenses that Eli did.

I wanted to say the same thing but was too lazy...
