Any team but the Eagles. Next year the Cowboys! 🙂

That would require them winning their first playoff game this millennium 😀

Panthers, Eagles, Ravens, Steelers

SD is on a hot streak, i expect them to continue winning. Sproles is a beast

Sproles has been extremely impressive, but I don't think he's going to be very effective against the Steelers run defense. Where the Steelers have been vulnerable is to a good passing offense. We'll see if Rivers will be good enough to pick their secondary apart.

wait, what? The number one pass defense in the league - by far - is their weakness? You need a balanced attack to have any hope of finding success against the Steelers, there is no "key" to exploiting them (same could be said of the Ravens or Eagles).

the only weakness the steelers have is... can they score points.

Precisely - they have been in every single one of their games and lost four due to lack luster offense and most of those losses were specifically because of turnovers from that offense - something the defense cannot be accountable for.

Titans, Panthers, Giants, and...hmm...we'll go with Chargers just because I like Sproles.

Was sad to see my Falcons lose, but still happy with an excellent season that many initially thought would be a wash.

They are also pretty bad on special teams. The stellar play of the D has masked it somewhat, but Berger consistently flubs low-hanging, 30yd punts that leave the other team in good field position. The kickoff coverage is fine, but they don't kick off that much and return teams are pretty lackluster as well.

Ravens vs. Titans should be an awesome game. Well, if you like defense 😀.

Prediction: Ed Reed scores 14 touchdowns and promptly floats off into space after the game.

<tom cullen>M-O-O-N, that spells Ed Reed</tom cullen> 🙂

Watching Sproles has made me beyond furious that the Bears deemed Wolfe (who is 1" taller and 10lb's heavier) "too small" to contribute regularly. God dammit i hate football.

well berger is like their 7th string punter...
at least the kickoff units have been decent.

Losing Sepulveda for the year was bad, but man, there was no undrafted college kid floating around with a big leg? Berger gets like 2 seconds of hang time on his punts which allows for some pretty good returns. Also with the way the offense has been, it would be nice to see some spark from the punt/kick returns, but Holmes is the only one who can provide that and he gets butterfingers on punts for some reason.

As a Lions fan, I have had a lot of experience in picking teams to root for that I don't really care about. I'm rooting for a Cardinals vs Chargers Superbowl because I love the Chargers uniforms/logo (especially the old school powder blue) and the Cardinals are the most Lions-eque franchise out there and an appearance in the Super Bowl would make the Lions the undisputed worst franchise in the history of organized football.

Special teams is more than punting - they've been very solid on coverages as well as returns (albeit certainly not spectacular) and Reed is excellent when it comes to kicking field goals.

I agree on the punting though, it is mind boggling that they couldn't find someone better than what they've had, granted they at least haven't had extremely negative plays with their punters (blocks, returns, bad holds for field goals, etc...) so I can't fault them too much

They had one bad play with Harrison long-snapping 🙂

Reed is excellent on FGs, especially within 40yds. They have the 2nd worst punt yd avg and 5th worst KO yd avg, although they are near top on yds allowed on both kicks and punts. For returns, they are 4th worst in the league on kick return yds and dead last on punt returns yds. All that adds up to a sub-par ST performance.

Hope I'm not the only one who thinks none of the teams who won this previous weekend have any chance of winning the superbowl.

Nope, I think the 4 teams on bye are probably the 4 best teams

Titans for sure. Ravens offense isn't that good and the Titans have one of the best Ds in the league. They've already beaten the Ravens at home earlier in the season. I see them playing even better at home.

24-13

I sure hope the Bolts can extend their streak. Of course, they'll probably lose now that all of San Diego jumped back on the band wagon.

Cardinals deserve a little more respect. Nearly beat Panthers earlier at home with Warner throwing for 380+ yards. The weather isn't really that different (same temps in Chandler as Charlotte today and forecast shows similar) no matter how much analysts want to say how 'cold' it is there. Now the Cards have a better running game as Hightower wasn't in the picture during the earlier game.

Forget Hightower. Edge looks like a man fighting for a contract in some place that wants him.

I'm going to say the Ravens upset the Titans. Titans are overrated - they had an easy schedule and that's the main reason they did so well in the reg. season. We'll see how well they do this time. It'll be a close one though.

Cards vs. Panthers, I know in my heart that the Panthers are the better team, but I want the Cards to win anyway for the lulz. Same with Chargers vs. Steelers - the Steelers are a better team, but if both West division teams make it to the next round of the playoffs, I will laugh. Imagine a Super Bowl between an 8-8 team and a 9-7 team.

Giants will kill the Eagles. Their last two games were against Minnesota (big whoop) and Dallas (who practically beat themselves late in the season). Minnesota's shorthanded (albeit still potent) defense stopped them pretty effectively on Sunday. The G-men should have no problems.

Titans are going under the radar IMO. I haven't heard a peep about em since they got 10 wins. On the other hand, I think the Ravens might be overrated a tiny bit 😛 - They have a monster defense of course, no doubt about that. It's their offense that is the problem. I watched the whole Raven's game this weekend and their offense is pretty lame. Mostly Flacco, although being exceptionally good for a rookie QB, he's still a rookie QB. Maybe the defense will score enough though so it won't matter 😛

Should be a good game, but I think the Titans will come out winners.

Titans play tight- aggressive. I don't think they have big play capability or any weapons that could bring them back from a 10 point deficit in any quarter. Most say they're overrated because the lack of good teams they played this year.

I remember their defense allowing 250+ rushing yards when the Giants played them.
