You mean they'll be playing both the Colts AND SD? WOW

Maybe then they'll have a chance...

Hell, I do, and I'm nowhere near Foxborough. I just want to see history.

Yep, emergency rule change by the competition committee to enforce parity in the league, I'm still in shock myself :Q

Harrison will be lethal.

or rusty...

Rusty? Just his presence on the field is going to shake the NE secondary. Manning + Addai + Wayne + Harrison + Clark + Hot defense = NE loss.

Though I do think NE will keep the game close for a bit, I see the Colts winning by at least two possessions. But any given Sunday could work in favor of NE.

IMHO the Colts with a fully healthy Harrison are a better team than NE. Their defense is better, their offense can be just as potent, and they have a great coach as well. They beat NE last year so the monkey is finally off their back. Patriots and their perfect season is going down the tubes.

38-27 Colts

Manning ~250yds 3 TD 1 INT
Addai 100+yds 2 TD
Vinatieri 1/2

Brady ~280yds 2 TD 2 INT
Maroney ~75yds 1 TD
Gostkowski 2/3

Although I am a NE fan, I think the Colts are too hot this year, especially with a full receiving core and young, energetic defense.

The Colts defense IS better. Manning is no rookie QB, the "veterans" aren't gonna be able to anticipate his passes like they can against lesser QB's.

Gerrard had a nominal number of pics this season, a lot less than manning. And I guess veterans are only veterans because they beat up on rookies...

I think we can safely say it could go either way. The Colts edged the Patriots, barely, in last year's AFC title game. Those Patriots were not as good as these Patriots, and those Colts were not as good as these Colts. This year, the Patriots edged the Colts, barely, in the regular season.

If I had to pick, I'd say that New England has improved to a greater degree over last years roster than Indy has, but frankly, when you're talking about numbers this high, it's kind of silly to be having the discussion at all. It's like deciding who's richer: Bill Gates or the Sultan of Brunei. It pretty much depends on what the stocks did today, so you may as well consider them equal.

Pats > Colts. or Colts > Pats. Definitely one of the two.

The "veteran" defense means little in this case. NE's weaknesses are letting up big plays on defense (look at some of the Jag's drives) and vulnerability to a persistent running attack. In my mind, the deciding factor for Indy is their defense. They are youthful and full of energy and seem to play very well against the Pats. Brady, like all QB's, is less effective under pressure, something the Colt's bring effectively against NE. The rest of the NE's offensive squad has equivilent parallels to Indy's squad so I consider that moot.

I wouldn't put it past NE to win, but I just think Indy's got it at the right time.
