Par for the course 9ers pulling another win out of their ass with star players out or going out during the game. I'd be surprised if Kittle comes back before midway through next season. What a game though. Aside from the Pats/Chargers game, good games so far for wildcard weekend. We really needed GB to win though. I would've much rather play anyone other than the Seahawks, but here we are. And on a short week as well with the game on Saturday.

During the Philly/SF broacast, they said the team losing at the 2 minute warning in the 4h quarter won the game in the first 3 wild card games...that is just crazy...

Shanahan 2 wins 1 loss postseason pattern continues. RIP Seahawks

Matt LaFleur was safe as soon as his players publicly vouched for him.
I like him, but I'd offer only a one-year extension. No need to back up the Brinks truck after a FIVE game losing streak lol.

"Any given Sunday."

An argument could be made that if the Seahawks are losing at home, the first game would be a good time. Although the bye is generally considered a great perk, we've seen top seeds exhibit rust after the long layoff. Sam Darnold is still an unproven performer, so this could be your best shot to rattle him.

Justin Herbert has had some fine regular seasons, but now three playoff stinkers. The analysts should probably stop talking about him as an elite QB, although he's certainly paid like one.

It was his most pressured game ever - 21 times. And had some key drops.

Fair enough, the NFL playoffs can be small sample sizes for anyone not named Tom Brady. It was silly the announcers last night said Herbert was the best QB to never win a playoff game (umm, he'd played only 2!). I realize I'm sounding a bit contradictory now. 😉

I've alluded to Lamar Jackson's playoff struggles, but he's not played bad the last few times out. Still, MVP QBs are expected to "will their team to victory." It's a bit unfair since QBs don't play defense too, but such is life when you're making $55M a year to play a game.

Welcome back? Are you posting from Europe yet?

TIL there is Murican football in Austria of all places. 🤯

Speaking of Tom Brady, the Patriots won their first playoff game since 1997 without Tom Brady.

ha. I just happened to read your post about ten minutes after I read analysis of all the 5 losing teams from the first playoff weekend about what happened in the game and what the overall scenarios are likely now in the off-season.

I too thought Herbert must have had a bad game, and he didn't have a great game, but he was utterly fucked - the receivers could not get loose (the Patriot's secondary was blanketing them), he got pressured 21 times tying his record and most under Harbaugh, and there were a couple of crucial drops. Turns out they were missing both starting tackles this past weekend if I remember right.

John Harbaugh is the belle of the ball.

To his credit, Herbert took ownership of the loss.
