Interesting that the odds for the Bills and Eagles winning has actually gone down since the beginning of the season. Eagles were +650 to begin, now +1000. Bills were +750 now +1000.
On the other end, Rams went from +2100 to +550, 49ers from +1500 to +850.
I do not gamble. My original vote at the beginning of the season was for the Ravens, which obviously didn't pan out. Right now I think the Rams do have a very good shot at winning the Super Bowl.
Parity has been the norm in the NFL for a while now, but this season is incredibly wide open and
weird.*
12 days ago, the Rams were the clear favorites. Honestly, right now they are a bad bet at +550. They will be either the 5th or 6th seed in the NFC, and will have to run the table on the road. I don't understand why their odds are still this high after the last 6 quarters (and 2 unexpected losses).** The best argument you can make is that the Rams will be a better team once they get back Davante Adams from injury. They're certainly capable of running the table, but that's always harder than hosting 2 home games after a bye.***
I'd left the Ravens for dead multiple times this season, but they are just one win away from sneaking into the playoffs.
* Who had Drake Maye as NFL MVP, or (potentially) the Broncos or Seahawks as the #1 seed?
** A strange side effect of the Rams loss to the Falcons is that the Bucs no longer control their own destiny in the NFC South. If the Falcons win, the Panthers (win or lose) will be the division champs on tiebreakers.
*** Whoever secures the #1 seed in the NFC should have the shortest SB odds. The AFC is totally wide open, and it's anybody's guess who will emerge.
If Niners manage to beat the Seachickens this week CMC should be the MVP. He won't be, but he should be.
