Is the NFI Firewall built into NFI motherboards worth messing around with, or is a software based one such as Zone Alarm preferable. A motherboard based firewall sounds appealing in principle, but I'm somewhat scared off by the problems people are reporting configuring it.

That's correct. There's a hardware firewall on my nf3 motherboard. But I was wondering if it's a good idea using it instead of a software firewall like Zone Alarm.

The nVidia firewall was working ok for most of the stuff I was using it for until I installed Bittorrent and it would instantly bluescreen and require a restart as soon as a download was going on. I tried other P2P software and it would do the same thing. Uninstalled the firewall and used ZoneAlarm and it's working fine now. I actually like their hardware/software firewall solution though I wish it'd show the upstream/downstream indicator like ZoneAlarm does. They need to work out the kinks in it before I would consider re-installing it though. So nVidia's firewall looks nice but it's not ready for primetime.
