I am buying parts for new comp, and Im wondering if the NF7-S board is good for what I have. I have a gf3, pc2700 512 DDR, athlon xp 2100. I was thinking a little bit cheaper then the NF7-S, but I want to stay with the nForce 2 chipset. Any other boards that you guys might suggesT? 😛
 
Thanks for the link, just picked up a combo for myself. After I did some research in the ABIT forum, looks like this is the best nForce 2 board out there that will do 220Mhz FSB outta box without any mod. 8RDA+ is definitely a great board too, but I would like to take the advantages of the SATA Raid and sound storm. 😀 LINK to the thread

Version 1.2 of Abit NF7-S adds much better overclocking features than previous versions of NF7-S. Also stable. Both great boards.

Firewire = IEEE1394, connection type (ie USB), speed is something like 400mbps, can be used for networking, typically used for interfacing with high end digital cameras and DV camcorders, also a very popular connection with Apple computers

Soundstorm = nForce2 sound system, quality comparable to Sound Blaster Audigy, does Dolby Digital encoding
