Given the choice, which would you choose for an analog setup...would I be better off keeping the TB Santa Cruz I already have and just getting a "regular" nF2 board (Abit NF7 non-S, for example), or unload the Santa Cruz and get an nF2 board w/Soundstorm (NF7-S, etc.)? I can only choose one option or the other as I have a limited amount of $ available.

Any opinions?

WEll I don't know about the XP thing. I have SC in my other machine, but its a 2k pro, but I would say the TB would be better.

The driver at TBSC's ftp doesn't support XP? It looks like it does in the description:

Hmm, I had my TBSC on XP too before my motherboard died, it was working just fine...

pspada do you have any reason or grounds to your claim on incompatibility?

I've had mine for close to 3 years and have never had a problem with it (on either 98 or XP).

As to the original question, I ended up going with the regular NF7...only issue I can think of would be that game port resources problem which is easily rectified (disable them altogether through XP)

I had problems with some games (Asheron's Call) with the Turtle Beach under XP that did not occur under Win98SE.
