Nexus S

i'm still on the fence. i figure I could get one to play with and sell it early next year for not too much loss, given how much a nexus one still fetches.

what i really want is an htc phone with a dual core cpu though...

i'll probably stop at bb and check one out on thursday.

And the sad truth is, you're probably right Bateluer. Hell it took then six months just to roll out a fucking update that TRIED to fix the GPS!

Oh yeah, the Nexus S supposedly has a 100% working GPS. It also uses a BT2.1/GPS chip, so maybe there really is a hardware problem with that stupid BT3.0 chip.

id get one if they made a CDMA version. i don't have anything against GSM but VZ is the ONLY carrier that works well where i live/travel/work so yea im kinda stuck with them

I have to believe GPS is a hardware problem when Google opted for older chip. Samsung may have the worst programmers but they're not stupid. I'm surprised there isn't a class action lawsuit regarding the faulty gps given how many galaxy s were sold worldwide.

No slot for a memory card is a deal breaker for me. Also rather not use t-mobile though would consider it if the phone took memory card.

According to T Mobile rep I just talked to over the phone, am not able to get the phone subsidized with a contract. Have to pay full price for the phone which seems odd.

Best Buy has prices listed for contract prices, I wouldn't believe everything customer service reps say.

I'd think about getting this phone if they bring it to ATT, it might have hardware that will soon be obsolete but it's still the top of the android phones right now and having stock android is a huge factor for me.

I reactivated my inactive Tmobile account today. I hope I can order one from BB online without needing a contract. Just want to get the phone. I am sad there is no SD card, but that is alright. Most of the things I use the phone for are stored online.

stock android, so yes it should. i think it says as much on the nexus s website.

Did it also have the capability to make phone calls over WIFI? I know they added it into the G2, but I am curious to see if the Nexus S ships with that capability.

I don't believe it is hardware, it is a cache issue. There is a "fix" out for the epic which uses the same GPS hardware. I own the epic also and was able to fix mine purely with software. Samsung has been making strides by getting the GPS more accurate, but for some reason they don't seem to be able to figure out the cache portion. Noone really knows why it fixes it on the epic, even the dev's are mostly confused, but it does seem to work.

What are you using for the GPS fix for the Epic? I still have locking issues and the OTA update for 2.2 is taking too long to roll out for my device.
