Thanks for sharing the feedback, but are you certain Nexus 7 4G will work with an AT&T sim without hacking?

The Computerworld reviewer(post #14 above) says it will not work with AT&T sim from your smartphone, and only work with a data-only type sim.

If you have personal experience with this please do share.

I know it will work. The Computerworld reviewer is a moron.

They don't. They monitor for unusual data use and user agents. If you use desktop mode heavily, you can get flagged.

That's why I like Straight Talk AT&T. They're not anal like AT&T and long as you stick under their unofficial data cap, Straight Talk won't bother you. I used my 3G 7" AT&T Galaxy Tab on Straight Talk AT&T without any problem. If I tried that with actual AT&T, I would've been flagged and forced to get tablet plan since AT&T has the Tab IMEI number in their system. But Straight Talk doesn't care. It's the same reason my wife can use 3G FaceTime with her iPhone 4S on Straight Talk and not have it blocked. AT&T blocks any 3G FaceTime on iPhone 4S.

I just looked up Straight Talk, and it says $45 per month – Unlimited Data, Talk & Text* (not sure what the star is for) but are you serious? That is hella cheap and no contract???

I have 5-months contract left with AT&T and I can't wait to leave if is this good.

Edit:
I read a nice review that outlines their service plans/price, and it sounds pretty good.

I just realized the Mobile Share 4GB plan on AT&T is $70 with unlimited talk and text?

I pay $39.99 + $25 + $10. Why wouldn't I switch? I'm clearly missing something.

Thanks for the link. I see that it does work for AT&T users with a reset of the APN settings.

If the sim does work, can you make a voice call(non-VOIP) on the N7-4G? I thought there wasn't a phone UI?

No way currently. It could change but I wouldn't count on it. It really limits the appeal of the HSPA+ feature.
