Nexus 7 2013 screen flickers on and off

It happens once every five minutes, for a brief moment the screen flickers off and then back on. It's getting worse, also.

I've had the tablet for three months, I've flashed it with the latest Android, I've truned the brightness way up, disabled Wi-fi optimization, forced GPU rendering, disabled HW layering or whatever, did every trick in the book (the web, actually) and it makes absolutely no difference whatsoever.

Has anybody else encountered this issue and/or knows how to fix it, or at least minimize it?

Also, I'm in Portugal, bought it off ebay from California, how the hell am I gonna RMA the tablet if it comes to that?! :\

Haven't experienced this problem but is it widespread? I haven't heard of this one personally.

No problem with mine 6 mos. in. Time for warranty call?

Parents had the same issue with theirs. Over time it got worse just as you mentioned. I suggest exchanging it if possible or call ASUS to get it fixed under warranty.

I have had that problem with mine. I do have random touches and reboots though (both shared by others on XDA), so I don't doubt the device has other problems.

Turns out the flickering goes away if I turn the brightness up to the 100%. ANYTHING bellow that, it flickers.

If somebody could point me out to an app that controls brightness in a kind of "software" way or something, something that would go around the hardware brightness control, that would be awesome.
