If you are 8 foot 2 at 500 pounds, then maybe you have gigantic fingers which I would understand then.

Im not saying you do, Im just saying that larger people with larger hands might indeed have difficuly.

A lot of people have also made this claim and to date, I have always beaten someone head on writing a document soft vs hard.

Most people don't write long documents on a phone. They want an efficient and easy way to bang out short messages when mobile.

You dont touch type on your phone? Or did I misunderstand you?

No one touch types on a phone.
How can you touch type on a phone? That involves having both hands on the keyboard.

I gave Swype one month....It was fast but wasnt as fast as HW, sorry.

You don't need to apologise. I'm not the one with the complaint, I'm happy with the status quo.

Why do you must keep on debating with him ??
He lives on an island. Nobody wants a qwerty phone except for him and the other 4 people I mentioned.

When you are messaging (WhatsApp for example) most conversations I have at least can account pretty much for a long documents. I don't get tired of banging on my HW keyboard while on a SW I found (among other things) I get fatigued and slow down. Of course, experiences may vary

Um, you know more or less where it is on the SW keyboard.

And I type in landscape mode; Portrait mode remains me of BlackBerries

Just saying

Again, a lot of people want QWERTY phones. Preorders for the Passport sold out and it did 200K the first 2 days.

Wait, so what is wrong with a bluetooth keyboard? Like one of those slideout ones?

I bet my S4 with a proper slide out bluetooth keyboard is still thinner than something like the Droid 1.

If it's between the Nexus 6 and "Project Ara", go with the Nexus 6.

Project Ara seems to be designed for emerging markets. You buy this cheap $15 frame, and install components to build a phone. It's citing a Q1 2015 commercial release (I'm very skeptical) which may just be aimed at developing markets initially like Android One is. I don't think we'll see high end components for a device like this.

And I fully expect Project Ara to be a complete bust and nothing come of it ever, just like the whitebook laptops.

For one, battery life is horrible.
Two, those slide outs arent that really good. I tried one on a phone (I believe it was a S3, don't quote me on that) and it was just a sin.

I don't care how much really thick or beautiful or whatever it is. Im a function over looks guy.

Finally, after posts that have nothing to do with the subject, someone goes back on topic. Thanks!

From the start, I have never been under the impression that Project Ara was for emerging markets. I have also been under the impression that it is not towards the high end market.

I have a odd feeling that were are not going to see a Jan/Q2015 release which is what worries me. I do not think it will be a bust as I think there will be a market for it. There is obviously demand as various companies are showing off their own module phone concept...

Project Ara is a proof of concept. If it will ever be a valid option it wont happen before 2016.

At $650 you can forget about it

Ironically, I fractured a thumb and Im on Swype now.

So painfully slow...
