Nexus 5000... do GigE SFPs support 100Mb connections?

Customer told me he doesn't think Nexus 4000/5000 switches support 100mb connections. I thought Nexus was 10Gb only, but just read they do allow GigE SFPs, but I can't find any documentation/confirmation whether those support 10/100Mb connections... most of his mgmt ports on their servers/storage only support 100Mb connections.

Anyone have any idea? Any advice is appreciated.

It would be a waste of money to put management port for servers to a nexus switch.
My recommendation would be to use a lower end cisco switch such as 2960 to accommodate server management ports.

Agreed. And on fiber then no, it's 1000 only on an SFP. If copper SFPs for 1000 Base-T then highly unlikely they'll support 100 Base-T. Those SFPs aren't normally "triple speed" 10/100/1000.

I don't have direct experience with the nexus, just going off of other platforms.

None of the nexus line support 100mb anymore, we have a 3750 in the rack for the older stuff that doesnt do gig. Its 10g or 1g only. Further, your 10g modules wont do 1g

Nexus 5K's don't support 100M, but the Nexus 2248 fabric extenders do.
We populated our new cabinet rolls w/ them
It's nice to be able to support MDS mgmt0 port that only runs up to 100M.

Odd, ours wont even link light when a 100mb device is added. I was also told in my nexus training class that they werent supported since the asics werent there to support 100mb

The 2148 & 2232 FEX's don't, but the 2248 supports it.
The 2248 probably didn't come out until after you took your training.
Many management ports such as those on MDS & server iLO's only support 100M.
It would be silly having to rack extra switches just to support them, while you're trying to simplify your L2 infrastructure w/ Nexus 5K's & 2K's.

Thats what we thought, so currently we have a stack of 3750 in the core rack for 100mb devices
