$6 to ship plus tax comes out to $27+ for me. Argh. Wish I could have added it to my original order.

I bought one with my original Nexus 4 order. However when I saw people on eBay going nuts for these, I ended up selling mine for $90.

I figured I'd just buy another when it came instock. But now that I'm seeing the price with tax and shipping, I think I'll just keep that $90 (which is like $70 after eBay and PayPal get their share) and go with a $10 Ringke Slim case instead.

It was a nice bumper, but not that nice. I still feel guilty for letting someone spend so much on my first one.

$90? Holy crap. Hopefully this breaks any stereotypes because it's clear that stupidity knows no bounds including phone platforms.

They should be able to mail the thing USPS first class for a couple of stamps.

Not even the cost of first class stamp. This bumper costs like pennies to make. At $20, Google could least offer free shipping. Adding another $7 for shipping is complete insult to already overpriced item. Google should be including this with the phone for free as apology for their screwup.

I bought TPU cases for like $1 including free shipping for iPhone 4, iPod Touch, Galaxy Nexus, and Galaxy S3. This is from multiple vendors. If these vendors can make money selling cases for ~$1 shipped, Google can offer free shipping for $20 while still ripping off people.

So I've had the nexus 4 for 3 days and I already have a small scratch on the back by the FCC labels. Does the bumper do anything to prevent scratching? I absolutely hate cases, but the horror stories about the fragile back are giving me pause about using this phone naked.

I might settle for a pouch though. Any recommendations for a good one? I really liked the one that came with the nexus s, but don't think that would fit.

Did you take the factory plastic off the back? A lot of people think the IMEI sticker belongs there... but it's actually part of the sticker that you need to remove.

I bought an XO Skin screen protector for mine. It comes with a clear protector for the back as well. I really like the back screen protector, gives it a lot more grip than just the bare glass and protects against scratches. I ended up removing the protector I put on the front glass though, it looked a bit ugly with the orange peel effect and wasn't smooth enough.

The bumper case would help too since it elevates the phone off whatever surface you are laying it on. Though it won't help if something is in your pocket with the phone that could scratch it, like coins or car keys, obviously.

Why would anyone get a bumper over a flexible TPU case?
Doesn't a flexible TPU case provide more drop protection than a simple bumper?

This is what I ordered yesterday. Should be here tomorrow.

I decided to go with them because I was impressed with their Nexus 7 cover.

I think b/c of the glass speckly back, some folks will want to show it off. I ordered what you did but in clear.

I like that a lot. Please let us know how you like it when you get it.

I don't like the way cases look. I'm sticking with faceless even though I dropped my phone on the sidewalk while I was putting up Christmas lights and chipped the back edge a bit. It's a nice looking phone, just a shame I didn't zip my pocket. I've had smartphones for years now and this is the most damage I've done to one.

I never do either. I'm just trying to keep the glass back from scratching. Guess I want to keep this phone mint for a while

Did you order crystal clear or frost clear? I believe that they are completely different products.
Frost clear shows the word "nexus" and also "LG" at the back, but it doesn't show the sparkling glitter.
Crystal Clear is a completely different product description(click it and you'll see). I'm not sure why the seller put both on the same page.

Also that bumper (in the OP) looks like a spigen one. Presumably they'll start selling them themselves for the N4 soon.

Crystal Clear. The frosted clear was pretty much a white case imho. We'll see what it's made of when I get it. Which one did you order and did you get it already?
