I'm on the market for a 10 inch tablet, N10 looks ok (though a bit outdated), I don't want to break the bank and I'd like to avoid touchwiz if possible. Is the Nexus 10 my best option or are there other good Android tablets in my price range (~350)?

Touchwiz is far better than AOSP at this size. Being stuck with one window is crap.

Might as well wait for I/O though.

I never liked the Nexus 10, maybe I just got a really bad one, but the display was really washed out. Returned mine.

Yeah, if you can find a Galaxy Note 10 2014 edition for cheap, I'd go with that.

But if you can't find a really good sale or want to buy used, then I'd look at ASUS TF701T, it's $300 new.

DisplayMate confirms the Nexus 10 display is terribad.

I really do hope Google seriously (for the 3rd time) invests in tablets this time around, but somehow I doubt it.

Anyone feel like we'll finally get a Facebook or Twitter app that's tablet oriented by the end of 2014?

IDK why the Note 10 is getting recommended over the Tab pro 10.1

The tab pro is a superior tablet. The Z2 is also great and waterproof.

The note 2014 edition has the same cpu and the same screen but it has a digitizer. Different software though since the tab pro is newer.

Which one is better is a personal decision whether you want the pen or the newer software. That and price.

At this point I would wait until Google I/O. I have a gen 1 Nexus 7. I have been watching new tablets since last October.

I really hope my patience pays off. I keep thinking maybe I will get an iPad Air 2 when it comes out to complement my Nexus 5 (with widgets I could never leave Android on the phone...but tablets are just browsing, gaming, and reading...I don't use widgets nearly as much).

If the new Nexus 8/10/whatever launches from Google and has a decent sized battery I will have a strong inclination to purchase it over the iPad that will launch later this year.

Maybe you are thinking of the older Note 10.1? The Note 10.1 2014 edition is, like Roland said, the same tablet plus a digitizer and pen.

the new hp omni 10 tablet looks sort of cool, i saw it at bb recently, its a windows tab

these bay trail windows tablets are getting pretty good, it may be just a matter of time before they start outselling android tabs. the guy in the above review says that at 10 inches, intel based windows tabs are the way to go, not android

Ordered a Galaxy Note...hopefully performance won't be bogged down too much by touchwiz

You can disable all the S stuff and use Nova, which leaves you with just the useful TW additions (toggles, multiwindow, pen).

After all this time, I don't think Google is making another Nexus 10. They would have refreshed it already. With rumors of Android Silver, I don't think they are making Nexus devices anymore which is a shame, my favorite devices have been Nexus devices.

Sweet, I already use Nova in my phone and love it.

I enjoy and get a ton of use out of my Nexus 10. *shrug*

I'm guessing Google's not going to release a successor to it and will probably focus their efforts on 7-9" tablets instead.

I've only ever seen it for sale by Google themselves, dunno if I have missed it elsewhere but that severely limited access to it.

they used to sell it at walmart. they dont anymore, i dont think, cuz its been replaced with newer stuff. it doesnt make sense at this point, its too old and also not a good bargain.

How does the performance hold up?

It is a nice device. A buddy of mine has one and it works very well. However, it is an older device and if I'm going to be spending $400 on a tablet, there are better options out now.
