I've been waiting for more than one month to read the " Nexus 10 review", what a pity, still no result.

I have two predicts.

1) Browser Chrome 18.0.1025464 is very very bad for exynos 5250 and never indicate the ability of 5250's performance. You can try any browser other than chrome, and always get better sun spider javascript score, such as 800ms900ms, 700ms etc. But Chrome 18 has 1380ms, ridiculous. Can you believe it? Google's fault.

2) Exynos5250 power consumption will be much lower than some people's estimate. On chrome book XE303, anandtech found 4.2w difference between idle and kraken test state. This is due to XE303's main board, not exynos 5250's TDP.

Hold your horses, the new iPad gets to go first. Chrome does seem to have room for improvement to make scrolling heavy sites completely smooth. I think it will be very interesting to see the display results too.

Ever try opening your Instant Upload notification on the Nexus 10? as it loads the grid of photos in your Instant Upload gallery in Google+, it's like a slideshow scrolling around.

Maybe it renders full res photos in that little thumbnail. You would think the view looks like the standard Gallery almost and you can scroll across the gallery relatively quickly. Considering Google+ was updated for the Nexus 7 to have a tablet view, I'd hope they fix this.

In fact with my Nexus 4 and Nexus 10, it's quite clear some apps are optimized for fast scrolling while others aren't. Taptalk is slow as hell I think, but Gmail is fast. Would be nice to see developers implementing the right scrolling API or whatever.

To tide you over, here's my review: My Nexus 10 review

haha can i ask what wordpress theme that is?

The app argument is way to subjective, I could spend days listing apps Windows RT doesn't even have. Besides ESPN cleanly didn't follow the Android design guidelines and the app is displaying completely different content vs the RT one.

True, my review was subjective, but I did pretty much what any consumer would do if they were interested in the Nexus 10. The difference between Android and Windows RT is that with the Windows Store is a little over a month old. I'm sure there are plenty of apps still being worked on (like the Dropbox one that just got submitted today). But if in 2 years, ESPN hasn't decided to make a tablet version of their Android app, what is going to push them to do so?

What's even worse is that the phone version of the ESPN app is exactly like the iOS version. At least on Windows Phone, they decided to be true to the platform.

Since when ESPN has become the test every tablet has to meet? And I would say the dissatisfaction you experience of ESPN app is exactly the type of trouble Windows can go through in the future. In another thread, I posted:

MS would surely want to have apps maintain compatibility between the two [WinRT and WinPro], but I don't see how it can force the developers to maintain the parity in times to come. Even if something works on both platforms at launch, it's more likely that updates or further developments may not, leaving consumers in limbo. Also, it's not difficult to imagine a developer pulling out of one platform if an app isn't selling. Then consumers have no place to turn to - I have read the Surface' EULA and MS explicitly disclaims any kind of responsibility (as it should, perhaps).

Many people argued that isn't going to be the case since they (RT and Pro, and Phone perhaps) share large percentage of coding. But as you see with ESPN on Android tablet, a developer can neglect a platform for whatever reason. And even if 98% of coding is the same the other 2% can easily make or break an app (or anywhere in between).

I can't predict the future but I would not buy into future, when it comes to MS' products. When the future arrives, I can decide accordingly.

Didn't mean to thread-crap. Sorry, OP. I looked for the same in the not-too-distant past. But I didn't find any in-depth review of Nexus 10. So I read short pieces here and there and watched some Youtube videos. Decided to pass and got a Nexus 7 instead.

A developer needs to explicitly go out of their way to write an app that works only on Windows 8 and not Windows RT. That's the whole point of Microsoft's development strategy, a developer does not need to care how many Windows RT tablets are sold, because there will still be plenty of Windows 8 customers using their apps.

App parity between the two platforms is by design. There's no need to worry about it.

None of the editors participates heavily on the forums and we have no clue. The iPad took 5 weeks to do and the Nexus 10 still has a week to go before it's at that mark. Your forum contributions don't really accomplish anything.

is this the longest waiting for a review?

Merged from another thread. You only get 1 thread. Furthermore if you really want to know the answer you need to email the AT staff. We don't know the answer.

Anandtech has definitely been quite slow as of late maybe due to the holidays who knows. We're still waiting on their Droid Razr Maxx(easily one of the most important phone releases this whole year) review and that has been out since October.

I never hold out for Anandtech reviews with mobile devices. They simply take way too long.

I think they're typically far more detailed, technically-wise, but they're never what I would consider timely.

I've had enough of my nexus 10, chrome browser crashes 2 or 3 times a day and i need to reboot the tablet, the thing takes an eternity to charge and battery doesn't seem to last as much as my ipad, so it is going back to walmart.

Screen and Spects are great but that doesn't make a tablet, it is better than the ipad to watch netflix but web browsing and pdf reading suffers due to the screen ratio, N10 feels like an unfinished product, I'll try again next year

the Nexus gets decent quality reviews, and the iPhone typically has a great amount of detail. the other phones you can expect to be trash in terms of reviews.

Don't bother using google chrome. It's a POS for Android. Also the charge shouldn't be that bad, but I do admit that power management is not as good as Apple's products.

damn look at Apple's power savings. I really just wish we could have that on Android phones too...

Android can do that you just need root find the right kernel, buy a few apps and then you can brag how customizable is the phone and that you can do anything you want
