Nextel in Miami

Ever since I got off Aligator Alley this morning, my Nextel has been at full strength but keeps saying "call restricted" when I try to call ANYONE.

Is this because of Katrina? Are the towers up (power) but the network down?

Anyone else in South Florida and have Nextel?

There are two 'L's in alligator

And to answer your question, since Sprint and Nextel joined forces, i've heard nothing but horrible things about the service down here...

My fiancee's friend couldnt get a call out for 6 hours one afternoon here in Sarasota.

I don't think it's just because of the merger. It's now 24 hours since I've pulled into Miami and I've been up and down from 595 to the airport and my phone still says "restricted."

Odd. As I was driving up 95 today, my phone all of the sudden said "Nextel" where it used to say "Ready" and now it works.

It is like a war zone down here in places. I know the hurricane was only a CAT1, but it moved through so slowly that it was brutal. There's power lines down, cell tower decapitated. What's messed up is that there's traffic lights out and these people drive like morons. I can't go 1 mile without seeing a wreck. 🙁
