I have Cingular and I hate it. I hate Verizon...and I heard Sprint sucks in L.A.

So there's Nextel...I heard it's less congested, but is it good?

NEXTEL phones have the fuxoring WORST MENU/SOFTWARE OF ANY CELL PHONE SINCE 1985.

I mean they suck like no phone I have seen before...

I bet the big ass 3 ton brick phone that Don Johnson carried on Miami Vice had better menus /software...

Their software is NOTHING like the Nokia/Sanyo/Qualcom/Sony/Samsung phone...you have to type in sh!t like # 9 2 3 2 4 to change the freaking RING SOUND... its like you have to practicly program the damn phone using hexdecimal codes..

i like the motorola for the nextel.. there is a pretty neat squak feature on that I don't know if all phones carry that... basically a two way radio between registered nextel phones in the network.

This is all IMO, so no flames please. Just my $0.02

Nextel doesn't make cell phones. They use Motorola phones and infrastructure. The quality is ok, coverage is average, the menu's are poor.

AT&T has excellent coverage/networks.

Nokia phones have excellent menu's are small and look cool.

Motorola Timeports are kludgy (I hate flip phones) and have crappy menu system.

That said, I'd still buy a Motorola phone every time because their RF performance is better than Nokia. I can learn my way around a crappy menu but I don't like (and can't learn my way around) poor reception.

Sprint is crap.

I currently use Verizon, but will probably switch to AT&T in the near future.

I have yet to look into Voicestream, but if they get GPRS working right I might get one.

I use nextel. My sister works for them, so I couldn't beat the price. merlocka is 100% correct about their phones, and system.

I have been using a Motorola i1000 for about a year. I havent had any problems with it. Menu's suck? It does everything that I want it to do. The two way radio is real handy at work. Just check out the coverage area. There is no roaming/long distance. Incoming calls are free. I am hard on phones and this one has held up! I think the weakest link is nextels coverage area. IMHO

I've had an i500 for nearly 2 years, no problems at all. I don't find the menu all that bad to use, and the standby time is fine for me, when it was new it could sit for 3 days, now that is a couple years old it lasts 2 days without a charge. The signal quality is fine, but I do run into quite a few dead spots in my state.
