Next type of government

Throughout history many forms of government have been created. Does anyone think that there will be a new type created to replace our democratic system in the future?
 
I watched an animated movie years ago made by puppetmaster Jirí Trnka called The Hand and in it I saw the future of government.

I think we will continue to bounce between our current 'extremes' of right and left for some time to come. It would be nice if we could shed both the electorial college and the two party system.
 

In my opinion, the best type of government would be as follows:

A leader is elected, and he would be responsible for all foreign relations for our country. All of the laws that were passed in our country would be voted on by the people, and not the senate or house leader, that way, people could make decisions for themselves and there would be no contraversy over leaders being bribed/blackmailed. And based on what the people voted, our leader could dictate foreign policy.

This will probably never happen but I think it would be the best type of government only for the reason that the people get to decide on critical issues and not the people that are already in office.

 
I think the next form of government will be an evolution to a hive mind of sorts.

I don't mind. Let everyone see what is going on, that film was banned in eastern europe during the height of the cold war. It was mandatory to watch it here in high school back in the mid 1980's. I don't remember why I sought it out, perhaps it was that feeling of freedom I used to enjoy and feel back then. I can't explain why but I don't feel that anymore, even though it sounds like nonsense it's almost like hope is fading but it is not affecting me directly yet.



Has anyone seen that film in highschool recently, would it even be allowed to be shown since it is such a powerful message of dissent?

i fear fascism still hasn't quite had it's day and that day is coming despite our good judgement to the contrary. but if there is to be a truely revolutionary form of government, it'll be what modern socialists profess. something akin to a popular rotating assembly to administrate the division of wealth born solely on the fact that you do your part. this may not be on the grand scale of governments we see today, but on a community level. this global society is going to prove entirely too expensive in lives, and resources to maintain it's present level of growth.

there is a name for it now that i think about it; autonomous anarcho collective.

just my weirdo tribalist vision.

Interesting comments about Somalia in the wikipedia link to Anarcho-Capitalism. I didn't know they still are able to keep a communications backbone functional even under a stateless system of warlords. And to think the per capita income of the average Somalian exceeds most of the rest of Africa as a whole. This was the land where throwing babies under UN/US tanks for the paycheck was normal.
