Oooh, didn't know SM was being developed by Relic. I haven't been let down by Relic yet. Of course, I said the same about BioWare and they came out with DA2 :) Anywho, I'll keep more of an eye on it now.

I managed to get just enough time to reacquire some updated mods and figure out the FMOD/BSA/ESM setup again. I so wish all mod authors would just use FMOD - all nice and easy. I'm giving FOOK a shot, and thought about the Monster Mod. Didn't get time to play, though, since I had to move my PC into my new Raven 2 case.

As of yet, you can't buy it on PC. New Vegas is steamworks, as is all the DLC - steam only.

Likely won't see it until late tonight. The Witcher 2 launched today, is 9 GB and cdProjeckt denied Steam a pre-load to push their GoG service. End result is that steam servers are getting hammered, and the Steam fallout forums have generally decided they're holding it back as late as possible.

Now I'm double pissed at GoG/cdProjeckts. No steam preload, so I won't be playing W2 for two days, and I can't play NV:HH in the meantime for the same reason. Pretty much ensured I'll never buy anything from them - or at least from GoG.

Why did you buy it through Steam in the first place? GoG direct was a much better deal. No DRM at all.

I bought the Premium edition off D2D for $34 (49.95-10% preorder deal-25% coupon) and after activation it said NO DRM!
So I guess it's DRM free across multiple platforms.

I downloaded NV:HH yesterday...but it's been a whjile since I played NV...gotta get to it I guess!

I'm completely indifferent to DRM, so No DRM was not a plus for me. Steam is always open on my machine though, so automatic updates will be more convenient with that then with GoG. Built in automatic updaters mean the download always starts when I open the game, which means when I want to play, instead of being downloaded in the background while I'm at work or elsewhere.

Sweet, an even better excuse for me to wait for the next gold / platinum edition that has this stuff bundled with it.

This exactly. I am really looking forward to playing NV, but I will wait until there is a version that is nice and patched and includes all the DLC.

Can you confirm it did not make you install or require Steam?

Well, bought it. Beat it in a day. It's not as good as Dead Money was. And that's being generous. Six fetch quests followed by one long battle.

Ouch.

I'm getting really turned off by DLC, I think I've mentioned this in other threads? Bought two DLCs for DA:O and they were both crap.

lame,dull,just no fun
sorry i bought honest hearts
it does nothing 4 the game

And it cost you ten bucks too.
I am not liking the way the DLC business is going. Can make a 60 dollar game into a hundred and you may not get much more play out of it.

Eh. The DLC business is just like that game business itself. Some of it is worthwhile, some of it is sort of worthwhile, and a lot of it is just not.

Dead Money was worth the $10. Honest Hearts was not. Same if you look elsewhere. Lair of the Shadow Broker was worth $10. Kasumi was sort of worthwhile. The item packs were not.

Honest Hearts was okay. It was good in that you could hump most of your equipment with you, no bullshit knock-out gas (spoiler?) where they strip you down and redress you and probably fondle you.

There weren't enough enemies though, and the ones there were, they were not that hard. I always loved fighting super mutants and Enclave in power armor in Fallout 3. Not much of that this time around. Story was pretty meh too, I did not get what was going on...

Dead Money was okay. Weapons selection and only one (you want to call it two? Fine then...) type of enemy. Very gloomy too, but the story was pretty good.

Took me something like 5 hours. Pretty par for the course nowadays. I remember paying $50 for 10 hour games, which included cinematics.
